About Me
My name is Oliver Jones, and I founded Arteva Web Design in 2023. Designing websites was not always the plan for me, in fact it happened unintentionally! Whilst studying for a Business degree at Oxford, I decided to wonder around one of Oxford's local markets.
Whilst there, I purchased a crochet sheep toy, (because why not), and after having a conversation with the seller, she informed me she did not have a website! This confused me as to why any business owner would not sell online, leading me offering to build her a website...
Creating Arteva
Turns out, I was pretty skilled at creating websites, and really enjoyed it too!
After many practice websites, trial and error with different builders, and many tutorials, I evolved my design skills to where they are today.
One recommendation led to another giving me enough work to turn this hobby into a job, and ignited my passion to help small and local business owners create an online presence, and to provide more stability and legitimacy to their businesses.
Whilst building Arteva, I found three reasons why too many businesses are not online:
1) Websites are too expensive!
2) They are too time consuming to build!
3) People don't know how to build a website!
This is where I wanted to change things! Building websites have fairly low overhead costs, allowing me to create them for only a third of the standard rates in the industry, making them more more accessible to smaller businesses and individual. I aim to create an online platform that not only is functional, but represents and portrays the vision you have for your business.
